HGTV is heading to the beach with its latest original orders as it also brings back one of its most recent hits.
The network has ordered Cheap A$$ Beach Houses and Tropic Like It’s Hot, two series focused on the slightly racier end of the property market.
This comes after Deadline revealed last month that the network, which is overseen by Howard Lee, Chief Creative Officer, U.S. Networks, Warner Bros. Discovery, was looking to become slightly sexier after a slew of cancelations.
Cheap A$$ Beach Houses comes from Bodega Pictures, which is behind series including Discovery’s Sin City Tow and Food Network’s Girl Meets Farm. Airing later this year, it shows how to own a slice of affordable paradise.
Tropic Like It’s Hot, which will premiere in 2026, comes from House Hunters International producer Leopard USA. It aims to put alluring destinations and luxury living in the tropics center stage for buyers looking to turn up the heat in life and love.
The network said it hopes both series “inspire those looking for a fantasy lifestyle”.
It has also ordered a spin off of Home Town, which is in Season 9 and has been renewed for Season 10. Home Town: Inn This Together will star renovation experts Ben and Erin Napier, who have revived many outdated homes and historical locations in their small town of Laurel, Mississippi, as they join forces with their family and friends Jim, Mallorie and Josh to restore the dilapidated 1930 Kress building in downtown Laurel. It comes from RTR Media and will launch in early 2026.
Separately, it has renewed three other series The Flip Off, Love It or List It and Renovation Aloha and ordered holiday shows Hoarding for the Holidays (w/t) and White House Christmas 2025.
The Flip Off stars popular HGTV figures Tarek El Moussa and his wife Heather Rae El Moussa, from Selling Sunset, as they compete against Tarek’s ex-wife Christina Haack to see who can find, buy, renovate and flip a house for the biggest financial gain. The first season was the network’s highest-rated freshman series since 2022.
The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television Nonfiction and Brass Monkeys Media in association with Hidden Key Media. The trio will exec produce.
Love It Or List It, which stars real estate agent David Visentin and his designer foe Page Turner, returns for Season 21 in 2026. It is produced by Big Coat Media. Renovation Aloha, which stars Kamohai and Tristyn Kalama, will return for its third season, produced by Fields Entertainment.
“HGTV’s passionate fans tune in for our signature home renovation, real estate and design expertise, and they also want content that’s unfiltered, escapist and fun,” said Howard Lee. “The network’s large order of new and returning series has something for everyone.”
