Reports say Newcastle is about to close the deal between the two strikers as they are approaching the signature of RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesco.
Magpies had a difficult transfer window as Eddie Howe and his transfer team continue to miss top targets this summer with Anthony Elanga and Aaron Ramsdale taking the main arrivals this summer.
Newcastle was targeting the move to sign Bundesliga striker Cesco amid Alexander Isaac’s interest from Liverpool, but they were beaten to the man’s signature by UTD.
Despite receiving an accepted bid by Leipzig, Sesco supported the move to Mann UTD through Newcastle, with journalist Sacha Tabolieri revealing that the Red Devils are trying to seal their move in the “next 48 hours.”
Tavolieri writes to X: They have a full agreement with RB Leipzig.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano added: As revealed last night, we follow šeško’s decision to join #MUFC. Sheshko trains separately until the transaction is completed… ready for flight.”

Before former CBS sports reporter Ben Jacobs added the update, “Manchester United are optimistic about reaching an agreement in principle with Benjamin Sesco’s Leipzig. The 75 million euro + 10 million euro offers meet the Leipzig ballpark’s rating, but the structure of the transaction is still in negotiations. The 5 million euro add-on is easily achieved. Sesko is waiting for travel permission after agreeing to terms on a five-year contract.
And now Givemesport claims he is considering completing the deal between Yoan Wissa and Ollie Watkins in a double deal to make up for Newcastle’s loss at Sesco.

Brentford has already rejected a £35 million verbal offer from Newcastle for Wissa.
