Benjamin Sesco was “impressed” by Manchester United’s “effort” signing him this summer after RB Leipzig’s asking price has been revealed.
Sesco is able to leave the Bundesliga side this summer after failing to qualify for the Champions League despite his interest in the Slovenians, Newcastle and Manchester United.
United wants a new striker after both Rasmus Hozilund and Joshua Zirksy weren’t impressed last season, but Magpies are looking for an alternative to Liverpool-bound Alexander Isaac after Swedish International dropped its bomb craving to leave the club on Thursday.
After Newcastle reported that it had “opened” with RB Leipzig on last week’s contract with Sesco, journalist Nikola Silla claimed on Sunday evening that the Magpie had “in principle agreed” with the Slovenian striker.
Schira writes about X: “Benjamin Sesco has agreed in principle with Newcastle on a contract until 2030. NUFC is currently working to reach a deal with Leipzig.”
However, German journalist Guido Schafer insisted that Sesko would prefer to join United in Newcastle this summer, with Romano on Monday saying on his YouTube channel that the Red Devils are “starting” for the striker.
He said: “For Newcastle’s Sesco, we’re ready to make something bigger, but don’t forget Man United, too. Man United has been discussing strikers for days. Ollie Watkins, but Aston Villa insists on keeping players…
“But Man United also made new contacts with Sesco camp on Monday morning in a recent time on Sunday night, not directly with the players, but with the player’s agents who start a conversation about the final numbers, contracts, projects and vision.
“So Man United is on the move, so Newcastle has already presented their projects and is preparing them for their financial needs. So Newcastle is ready to make a very important proposal for Sesco and Leipzig. Man United has started a concrete conversation, debating his name internally for a few weeks.”

And now Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg claims that Sesco was “impressed by Mann United’s efforts to sign him.”
He writes to X: As revealed today, #Mufc presented players with clear numbers and their projects. Sesco is impressed by Man United’s efforts to sign him.
‘But Newcastle is fully in the race and hasn’t stepped back. Offers are always ready to be submitted. Leipzig is currently demanding at least 80 million euros.
United boss Amorim claims that players who are joining the club this summer should fully invest in his projects.
He told the club’s media channel: “They want to come here. I think all that fans can do is want a player who has already proven themselves. Sometimes you have a player with a lot of potential to do that, you need to know that, but we need to know the players.
“And one of the things that really matters is they want to come here. That’s the key point. If we can find someone in the market, help the team and have all the boxes with them, then we’re going to do that.
