Reports suggest that Liverpool was able to “enhance interest” in Real Madrid winger Rodrigo.
The Reds have so far made good progress in the summer transfer window, signing six players, including Florian Wiltz, Hugo Echicicke, Milos Kerkez and Jeremy Fripon.
Liverpool recently received good market opportunities as Newcastle United striker Isaac told Magpie he wanted to leave St James Park and join the Reds this summer.
After enquiries early in the summer, Liverpool decided to make an official £110 million offer last week. This was rejected by a passive Newcastle.
Liverpool now claims they won’t bid again on Isaac this summer, but Fabrizio Romano will put it part of the “plan” to cut Geordies’ fees.
The Reds and other Premier League clubs have linked Real Madrid winger Rodrigo this summer, and senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke, now a football insider, claims that Liverpool can go to the Brazilians if they miss Isaac.

O’Rourke told Football Insider:
“The whole focus of Liverpool is on Alexander Isaac, and they are prioritizing the move and trying to get a deal with Newcastle, but that isn’t easy.
“The only way they can get Rodrigo is if they don’t land Isaac, they will probably strengthen their interest in the Brazilians.
“Rodrigo’s position in Madrid has been the subject of speculation throughout the summer, and he barely played in the Club World Cup, which has raised speculation.
“Xabi Alonso still counts on Rodrygo and he is part of his plan.
“As of the situation, Liverpool is making all their efforts to Rodrigo sign a contract with the backburner and sign ISAK. If they get Isaac, it will end their interest in Rodrigo.
“So when we stand now, I expect Rodrigo to stay in Real Madrid. But he is from the world and Liverpool will go for him if he can’t get Isaac.”

O’Rourke added: “For Newcastle, we need a solution right away. It was a really difficult window for Eddie Howe for all sorts of reasons. They missed out on other players.
“But the entire saga is casting a shadow over Newcastle entering a new Premier League season. Newcastle is within their rights, he has a long-term contract and they are looking for big money for him.
“If a player is focused on moving elsewhere, Newcastle has to unwillingly move him and try to incorporate substitutions. It drags on, but the player is clearly unhappy and wants to move to Liverpool.
“Newcastle is trying to get the best dollars for him, so talks are underway between the two clubs, Isaac representatives and Newcastle to see if a resolution can be made.
“For all involved, they want to resolve it as quickly as possible.
“The longer you drag, the clouds hang over Newcastle, leaving a bit of atmosphere around the training ground.
“Unwillingly, Eddie Howe will be willing to let Isaac move forward if he can use his money to strengthen his team, even if he doesn’t have the heart to the club.”
