EXCLUSIVE: Here’s your first look at BAFTA winner Jasmine Jobson (Top Boy) as Ramla Ali, the UK’s first Muslim boxing champion, in the forthcoming biopic In The Shadows.
Finn Cole (Last Breath) stars in the pic alongside Jobson as her husband, Richard Moore. Altitude will be screening footage to international buyers in Cannes next week. True Brit Entertainment will release the film in cinemas in the UK and Ireland.
In The Shadows is inspired by the true story of Ali, who went on to make history as the first non-track and field athlete to compete for Somalia in the Olympic Games.
Presented by Affine Films and Civic Studios, In The Shadows is directed by triple BAFTA-winner and Oscar-nominated filmmaker Anthony Wonke (Accidental Spy) from a script by Ursula Rani Sarma (Bodkin).
BAFTA-winner and Oscar-nominated producer Lee Magiday (The Favourite) of Sleeper Films, and Madeleine Sanderson (Destiny Of The Main Stage) of Affine Films have produced the film.
