Al Calderon is leaving Days of Our Lives, and after wrapping up filming for the Peacock series, he took to social media to say goodbye.
In a post on social media, Calderon acknowledged his departure and shared some touching words.
“My time on Days of Our Lives has been truly life-changing,” Calderon wrote. “I’m endlessly grateful to the cast, crew, and creatives who made me feel seen, valued, and part of a legacy of family.”
He continued, “I’ll carry the love, lessons, and memories with me on every journey I go on. While I’m just a small grain of sand, I’m just happy I got to pass through the hourglass.”
Calderon ended his note adding, “As my mom used to tell me — it’s not goodbye, just see you later. I love you forever.”
On July 30, Deadline exclusively reported that Calderon would be leaving Days of Our Lives after booking a role in NBC’s Brilliant Minds Season 2. Calderon joined Days last February playing Javi Hernandez, a passionate and professional man who is larger than life at times, and sensitive at others. He’s the man you’d want to date or befriend, but not one you should aim to have as an enemy.
The role of Javi will be recast, and Calderon will continue to appear as the character until May of next year.
With filming done for Days of Our Lives, Calderon will now focus on his role at Brilliant Minds, where he will play Nurse Scotty Silva.
