Fashion Forward Jaden Smith hired Reports say that Christian Louboutin’s male creative director and has moved to Paris.
In a long story that Louboutin and Smith confirmed the news, Women’s Wear Daily said Red Sole Shoe Brand Smith, 27, will be responsible for the creative aspects of shoes, leather products and accessories, developing campaigns, events and immersive experiences, but will continue to oversee his subordinate divisions.
Smith will be presenting his first design in Paris in January during Men’s Fashion Week. He oversees four collections a year.
“This is one of the greatest honors of my life and I feel great pressure to be able to respond to everything Christians did for the home and step into such a serious role.”
Louboutin said Smith was the only candidate for the job.
Smith’s appointment would leave him room for growing his women’s business, Louboutin said. He wants to leverage Smith’s star power and nearly 20 million Instagram followers to raise the male category. It accounts for 24% of the business, but has experienced a decline.
“He has a way of seeing things, digesting things, how to make a transformation that really leads to the way I function,” Louboutin said.
An email request for comments to Louboutin and Smith representatives was not immediately returned Wednesday.
