That same month, Perry’s mother, Suzanne Morrison, detailed her final moments with her late son.
“He had an interesting period just before he died when he was showing me one of his new homes,” she told Savannah Guthrie today. “He approached me and said, ‘I love you so much, and I’m so happy to be with you now, and I am…” It was like a hush or something. ”
And while she always cherishes the moment, Morrison shared an entire nine-yard star with her ex-husband John Bennett Perry, but their interaction was a cold window into his future.
“I didn’t think about it at the time, but ‘How long has it been since we had that conversation?” she recalled, adding, “There was inevitable what would happen next to him, and he felt it very strongly.”
