Hollywood laments the loss of one of its own.
According to his obituary, Jerry Adler was best known for his role in Sopranos and Good Wife. He was 96 years old.
At the moment the tragic news broke, Adler’s friend Frank J. Reilly gave emotional respect to the late social media actor.
“The great actor, my friend Jerry Adler, passed away today at the age of 96,” Riley wrote on X along with some of Adler’s throwback photos. “You know you’ve had from one of his iconic roles from many of his guest appearances. It’s not bad for a guy who didn’t start acting until he was 65.”
In fact, the New York native spent much of his early career working behind the scenes at Broadway productions, including my Fairlady production in 1956.
He did not continue his on-screen acting debut at Brooklyn Bridge until 1991 until 1991, then secured the role of defining his career as Lone Shark Herman “Hesh” Lovekin at the Sopranos eight years later.
