Liverpool have held talks with super agent Jorge Mendes about a potential deal for Juventus star Kenan Yildiz, according to reports.
The Reds made a quick start to the new Premier League season with five wins from five games before relinquishing top spot to Arsenal after a nightmarish month.
The Gunners, who have suffered four consecutive Premier League defeats, are seven points behind third-placed Liverpool, who are still seen as Arsenal’s main rivals for the title, despite Manchester City being higher in the table.
Liverpool beat Real Madrid on Tuesday night to make it their second win in their last two games as Reds fans hope for a turnaround for Arne Slott’s side.
Despite spending huge amounts of money in the summer transfer window, Liverpool are looking to strengthen their squad over the next few transfer windows.
Turkish international Yildiz, who is currently valued at around 100 million euros (approximately 8.8 billion yen) by Juventus, is rumored to be moving to Liverpool.

An authoritative article in X by a “team of five elite reporters” claimed that the Reds and another team in the Premier League had met with super agent Mendes to begin talks over a possible transfer.
The account wrote about X as “exclusive.” Sources say super agent Jorge Mendes has met with two English clubs in recent weeks.
“I understand that @LFC is one of them. This transaction is #lfc. This will only happen if one of the highest earners leaves the club in the summer.

At Juventus, Yildiz is often used as a left winger or second striker in a 3-5-2, and the Serie A team’s manager Luciano Spalletti has revealed he wants to understand where the Turkish international is most comfortable playing.
“A good starting point is to ask your opponents where they are most comfortable,” Spalletti told reporters this week.
“If you ask him, he will tell you that he likes to play in that position, either on the left of center or on the flank. He is good as a second striker and as a winger, so neither is a problem… What bothers him a little bit might be the 100-metre run, but in modern football you have to adapt to that as well. Technique, pushing your shoulder and pushing the opponent off the pitch, showing the other players your direction.”
