Liverpool are reportedly “closely monitoring” the Real Madrid star, who would be a perfect fit in a role where there are “concerns” about a lack of depth.
The Reds started the season in great shape. They won each of their first five Premier League games, but ended their unbeaten run against Crystal Palace and suffered a second successive defeat against Chelsea.
Liverpool have lost their last three games in all competitions, with those defeats split against Galatasaray in the Champions League.
In the most recent game against the Blues, there was a slight change in midfield. A difficult start to the season saw Florian Wirtz drop out, leaving Dominik Szoboszlai to play in the frontline of midfield, with Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenbirch behind him.
When Wirtz returned from the bench, Szoboszlai moved to right-back. Right now, it looks like the Reds have some players who may not be a perfect fit for their roles.
According to TB Football, there are “concerns” about the lack of depth in holding midfield – Grabenbert is clearly very capable there, but it is not the natural position of Mac Allister, Szoboszlai and Curtis Jones.
Liverpool are doing “a lot of work” on potential additions, with Eduardo Camavinga being the latest to do so, according to reports. Alongside him on the list are Carlos Baleva and Adam Wharton.
However, the Reds are “closely monitoring” Camavinga as a reinforcement option ahead of the new year and may not want to wait until the summer when there is a lot of interest in other players.

The newspaper said Camavinga was a “very good option” at Anfield and insider Graham Bailey revealed that Real realized it might be best to sell him.
“Camavinga is a top performer and he is only 22 years old. Real Madrid love him, but they know that inside the Bernabéu they cannot keep a player who is not playing, especially if there are other top clubs willing to take him right away.”
“He’s a player to watch. There are some big names under Xabi Alonso who are very likely to move in 2026.
“Liverpool are not the only team to have an eye on Camavinga, but there could be no better place for him to land.”
