Liverpool has confirmed four goals in the last two games, but Arne Slot claims that Liverpool has no problem getting the opposition “opportunity.”
The Reds defeated Athletic Bilbao 3-2 on Monday, then painted Crystal Palace and 2-2 on Sunday on Community Shield.
Jamie Carragher wrote to X: Many goals recognized by the LFC have left space to become human and become more aggressive towards humans. Today, Kerkes is dragged by Sarl with Gakupo chasing WB.
Slot himself admitted that “it may take a little defensive adjustment,” but was keen to distinguish between allowing opposition opportunities and accepting goals. Apparently Liverpool is doing the latter without really allowing many opportunities.
The Liverpool boss may be shocked to learn that Liverpool has recognized three big opportunities on Sunday.
Slots refers to four new additions in Liverpool’s lineup after a massive summer, saying, “It takes time to adapt (or) defensively to adapt.
“But (Athletic Club in a 3-2 victory), we didn’t recognize one chance at all. One might not know. But we admitted two set pieces.
“I don’t think I’ve admitted that much today, but once again they acknowledged two goals as the big opportunity first brought a penalty.
“And while we might forget some chances, I felt that the 78th minute was the second biggest chance of the game.
“We don’t accept many opportunities, but at this point we acknowledge our goals.”
Slot, of course, wanted to highlight his team’s offensive improvements.
“We create more opportunities, we create opportunities, we probably dominate even more. Last season we owned a lot of balls, but that didn’t always lead to promising situations.
“Now we are better at creating and reaching promising situations than I’ve had throughout all of last season.
“The other side is true too. We have confirmed that we are here today against Milan, one against the Japanese team, two against Bilbao, and two against them.
“What really made us stronger last season was that we won with one goal, mainly because we held a clean sheet or acknowledged the biggest one.”
Now it feels like Liverpool is set to win every game 3-2.
