Newcastle United transfer experts are confident the club will sign Brentford striker Yoan Wissa before the summer transfer window closes.
Wissa is one of the top targets for magpies this summer, but has not been able to secure a deal so far as Brentford reported a £50 million asking price.
Dr Congo International reportedly was allowed last year to leave for £26 million this summer if he ignored his transfer rights.
I understand their reluctance to sell, especially after losing star player Brian Mbeumo to Manchester United. The bees also sold club captain Christian Norgaard to Arsenal and lost longtime head coach Thomas Frank to Tottenham, signaling a major transition in West London.
F365 says: Yoane Wissa deserves our sympathy…but not as much as the poor fans of Brentford
While Brentford is making a difference, Newcastle is plagued by incompetence and frustration.
The magpie transfer window in the summer is nothing more than a disaster. They missed several top targets, including Joao Pedro, James Trafford, Hugo Ekitike and more recently Benjamin Sesko.
Worse, star striker Alexander Isaac wants to leave and is doing everything he can to secure his move to Champions Liverpool in the Premier League.
The original plan was to sign another striker and play along with Isaac. Wissa quickly emerged as a serious option after Liverpool hijacked Newcastle’s Ekitique move.
Consultations to take Wissa to Tyneside remained ongoing, with the striker missing out on several pre-season training sessions (essentially strikes) in order to protest Brentford’s broken promise.
This has led bees to search the market for exchanges, increasing optimism that the transaction could close before the September 1 deadline.
According to Daily Mail journalist Craig Hope, it “causes” from Wissa from Newcastle.
However, Hope adds that the transfer depends on Brentford first finding a replacement, with Dango Watara of Bournemouth being among the targets.
Wissa, who scored 19 Premier League goals last season, could be signed for around £35 million, adding that she is growing confidence that the agreement is within range.
If the bees progress there (or on targets attacking), expect Wissa’s immediate move to Newcastle.
The 28-year-old wants to sign people on Signside, which is why they are patient. Players desperate to take part in this summer are rare magpie products.
Wissa scored 19 Premier League goals last season without penalties, rarely missing out on the game.
Although Brentford is likely to push for more, I have heard that a package of around £35 million should be enough to secure a deal.
Hope also reports that Newcastle has acquired Goncaro Ramos of Paris Saint-Germain, Nicholas Jackson of Chelsea, Ollie Watkins of Aston Villa, Jacob Strand Larsen of Wolves, Rodrigo Muniz of Fulham, Ross Openda of RB Leipzig and former Airton Forwart Dominique Calibert Lewis Agent.
In Jackson, Chelsea wants £60 million and it is allegedly claiming that two Premier League clubs are in “unofficial consultations” over the transfer.
Incredibly, Daveockop’s report claims former West Ham striker Michail Antonio is a player Eddie Howe can pursue.
Now, after the hammer contract expired, free agents appeared on the under-21 side of the club before the season.
The 35-year-old broke his leg in a serious car accident last December. He hasn’t played a competitive club since.
And yes, I fully recognize that there is no chance that he will actually join Newcastle.
