Former Manchester United winger Nani has explained why he believes his former club need to sign Tottenham Hotspur star Joao Parinha on a ‘permanent’ contract.
The central midfielder joined Spurs in the summer after shining in the Premier League with Fulham, but struggled to break into Bayern Munich’s starting XI.
Parinha has impressed for Tottenham since the start of the season and has already proven to be one of the signings of the season in the Premier League.
Manchester United have previously been linked with Palinha, and after failing to sign Carlos Baleva in the summer, they will be targeting a No. 6 player next year.
Nani believes Palinha has two qualities that “fit Man United’s DNA”.
“Joao Parinha is a great player. I played with him at Sporting, where he grew and learned a lot. After a few years, he became one of the best players in his position,” Nani said in an interview with Covers.com.

“He is very strong and has a talent for winning the ball back and making tackles. He has also improved his forward play, scoring goals, connecting with the team and moving forward with the ball. He has become the perfect player in his position.”
“He’s a great player and I think he can really play for Tottenham. He had his chance at Bayern and we don’t know what next season will bring, but he’s a player who can play for any team in the world.”
“He needs to be consistent and healthy because injuries sometimes cause problems. I believe he will have a great career.”
Nani added: “He’s a player full of energy, he has the ability to recover the ball and fight for it. That fits right into Man United’s DNA.”

Nani also boldly claimed that the Red Devils could win this season’s Premier League.
When asked if Man United could win the Premier League this season, Nani replied: “Why not?”
“They’re building a strong team and they’re trying to get back to real competition with the teams that are always at the top, like Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Man City. So they’re there now. They have potential. They’re there now. They have potential.”
“If they win the next few games, everything could change. So we never know. Let’s keep winning games and we’ll see.”
