Reports suggest that Man Utd has identified Feyenoord midfielder Quinten Timber as a potential alternative to Brighton star Carlos Baleba.
Red Devils reports that they are in the transfer market for more reinforcements this summer, with defensive midfielders and goalkeepers hoping through the door before the transfer window closes.
Matheus Cunha, Benjamin Sesko and Bryan Mbeumo have already arrived at Old Trafford to form a new attacking trident, while Man Utd also brought in Paraguayan youth Diegoleon.
Baleba is the player Man Utd chose as the top target mid-summer, with Brighton reportedly putting a £120 million asking price on his head.
Speaking on his YouTube channel on Wednesday, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano brought the latest interest to Baleba’s Man Utd, saying, “Carlos Baleba’s contact details will follow. Today, Man United once again spoke to the player’s agents.
“They are ready to try and understand how much Brighton wants, so let’s hope this week that Manchester United will try to understand the situation first hand with Brighton and see what happens there.

“They haven’t moved another midfielder yet. This means Manchester United will try to keep Baleva’s active contacts and see if they can actually do that, or whether Brighton will be unable because they don’t intend to reduce prices yet.”
Brighton’s rating could postpone the Red Devils, and the football transfer claims Man Utd is “examined” the “Feyenoord Midfielder Timber” as a “possible alternative.”
Reuben Amorim “likes Baleva’s move, but Timber is in the final year of his contract with Feynord.
The soccer transfer adds:
The report continued. “Baleba has been tipped to direct transfer fees of at least 116.2 million euros (£100 million), and some figures from Man Utd believe Timber could actually fit more tactically than Cameroon International.”

Man Utd faced Arsenal on Sunday in his first Premier League match of the season at Old Trafford, but Gary Neville and Roy Keene are against the outcome.
“They’re making the most of their lives,” Neville said on his soccer podcast stick.
Keene then replied: “I’m going to Arsenal, 2-1.”
Neville: “I’m united, 2-1.”
Keene: “Defensively, is Arsenal trying to give up two goals?”
Neville: “I think it’s a really bad game when Arsenal gets up first. I think it’s a challenging game for Arsenal.”
Meanwhile, Wayne Rooney believes Man Wood has “sneaked into the top five” of the Premier League this season despite finishing his final 15th campaign this season.
Rooney said:
“But I think Amorim can see what he’s doing (and) it looks better for Man UTD, so I think they’ll sneak into the top five.”
He added: “I hope they do that.
