According to transfer journalist Ben Jacobs, Mann UTD “have to move” if he wants to beat Newcastle in the race to sign Benjamin Sesco this summer.
The Red Devils have already brought new offensive talent in the form of the Wolves and Brentford’s Mateus Cunya and Brian Mbeumo, but Paraguayan youth Diego Leon has also joined from Cerro Porteno.
Man Utd was about to move parts of the “bomb squad” that was departed by main player Marcus Rashford after completing his move to Barcelona last week this summer.
The Red Devils are still trying to move Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia to raise the necessary funds for more reception.
The new strikers are at the top of their agenda, but they also want to bring in goalkeepers and defensive midfielders. RB Leipzig striker Sesco is one of two players UTD is chasing.
Sesco and Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins went to the top of the list with a meeting held this week to determine whether the Red Devils could afford the expensive moves of Slovenia International.

However, transfer journalist Jacobs warned Man Utd that they need to continue doing so as Newcastle is “advanced” in the discussion to land Sesco in a “club-to-club talk.”
Jacobs told Talksport:
“Manchester United still has internal conversations and as a result, their outreach to both Watkins and Sesco is still formative.
“But I get the impression that this is a big week to pursue No. 9 because if it was Sesco, Man United would have to start moving.

Man UTD’s legendary Rio Ferdinand is not convinced that Sesco will be the answer to the Red Devils’ goalscoring problem and will prefer Premier League rival Aston Villa’s Watkins.
Ferdinand said on his YouTube channel Tuesday:
“It’s not entirely guaranteed, but there’s a double number before it.
“Remember, we were 16th in terms of scoring last season. These lots have scored at least 40 goals between them.”
Speaking about his “worry” about Sesco, Ferdinand continued. “The only difference is that Rasmus (Hoilund) came in and had inexperienced around him on one side of (Alejandro) Garnacho and on the other side of Amado (Diaro).
“If Sesco comes in, there are two players who play the Premier League, score goals in the Premier League and have Bruno (Fernandez) backed up, so I think it’s another dynamic that he comes in.
“But the uncertainty is a bit worried about me. Can he adapt to this league?”
“I wanted an experienced striker, so he obviously wouldn’t be my first choice today,” Ferdinand said.
“But if Manchester United buys him and Newcastle gets ninth, that means (Alexander) Isaac will stay in Newcastle, and Liverpool won’t get Isaac?
“Liverpool’s transfer period has been exceptional so far.”
