Are you planning on doing this more from these two this season? Ah wonderful.
Like the away side, Arsenal has an excuse that at least it’s boring and uninspired. After Altai Beyindil put the rather routine horns of call on Riccardo Calfioli’s head, he surprised it so that we would take it to come from our noses with a big, stupid friendly labrad.
Still, we wanted more from them – the feeling that they might have raised their game since last season, or that they were keen to see what they could actually do if they gave him the ball in front of the goal. It feels a bit strange to scream for the centre forward and then pretend he doesn’t exist. Probably another day.
We are again leaving Arteta again far too conservative for his own interests. United were there again as the home crowd was constricted by a too-familiar route to goal. Kill the game, young people? no. But hey: they won on the road. Chalk it as a sturdy and resilient victory.

Manchester United on the other hand… well, they were clearly better than Arsenal for the majority of the game, but they had to get better to come from the goal behind them. In addition to the nine teams that took over the Premier League last season, it turns out that the actually pleased Brian Mbeumo and Matteus Cunha have yet to be significantly improved. It’s better, but not great.
United fans continue to have reasons to feel unhappy about it. But for us as neutrals, their biggest sin in the nine-month Reuben Amorim era is how dull it is for such a long game spell.
While Bayindir and Andre Onana are repetitive errors they made as valid topics at the time, the criticism was amplified by the fact that United rarely hacks anyone else to tell us. They have been a great place to go to catch up with your sleep, so they continue to call Old Trafford theatre of Dreams.
Here, Mattheus Cunha was the only United player to bring all sorts of courage to the side in the first half. It was especially fun to see Arsenal progressing through the entire defense of the first half, and it took a surprising response from David Raya to keep Arsenal forward as the former wolf man was shot from a narrow angle.
It wasn’t until the last 30 minutes that United actually started clicking on gear. They can then give some encouragement. Anyway, that’s something.
Mbeumo looked particularly bright in the second half, helping United to inspire him to finish the game hard. Amorim’s side showed considerable promise here than they did at most other points last season. Cunha, Mbeumo and Ever-Dynamic alternatives, Amad, should have better luck against the defensively less capable aspects than Arsenal.
But until that happens, that’s all the promise, and there’s clearly still a lot of work to be done in the transfer market, especially between the sticks.
There are a lot of other aspects like Liverpool, Newcastle, Villas, and more that aren’t the best and have issues dealing with.
But for our continued sanity throughout the season, it’s unity and Arsenal that we want to raise their game and show something more.
