Man United could spend big on two major signings in the January transfer window following Ruben Amorim’s recent good form, according to reports.
The Red Devils have had a poor start to the new Premier League season, with Amorim under pressure to turn their fortunes around, especially after finishing 15th last season.
But with Saturday’s third successive win and 2-2 draw at Nottingham Forest, Manchester United have picked up 10 of their 12 points from their last four games and fans are hopeful again.
The Red Devils are now looking forward to the next transfer window with Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS will hope to be able to provide further reinforcements to continue Amorim’s gradual development.
After spending more than £200m on five new players in the summer transfer window, many supporters and former players felt it was a huge oversight not to bring in a new midfielder.
And now Man United are set to address the issue with a catch offside in January, with the Red Devils claiming they are “ready to step up efforts” to sign Anderson from Nottingham Forest.

Man United could have to pay up to £70m for the England international, while they “will face particularly strong competition” for his signature from arch-rivals Man City.
A source told the website: “United consider Anderson the perfect option and long-term investment, but could accelerate efforts to sign him in January this year. There is unanimous feeling among the manager, Ruben Amorim and the coaching staff that Anderson would be a great addition in that position.”
A separate report from Caught Offside claims Man United are still “closely monitoring” Branthwaite’s situation at Everton, despite the centre-back recently signing a new contract until 2030.
The report added: “Everton’s stance remains firm, with the club not intending to sell and continuing to value the England international at around £70m, a figure that thwarted United’s approach last summer.”

Nottingham Forest quickly took control after half-time on Saturday by scoring twice before Amad Diallo hit back late on to give Man United a point.
Commenting on Forest scoring twice in a few minutes, Amorim told reporters: “We lost control of the game for five minutes and we paid the price. I felt that the energy level was not the same compared to the last game. You can feel that when you play away. (The players) gave their all and you could see it in the game, but in the details the energy was not the same.”
“We have to work on that. As I said, we were controlling the game. In the Premier League, five minutes of disconnection can change the result.”
