Marcus Rashford has sent a message to Manchester United that he wants to remain at Barcelona once his loan period ends in the summer.
The Red Devils allowed Rashford to leave Old Trafford and join Barcelona on loan in the summer transfer window, with the Catalan giants giving him a £26m option to make his deal permanent next summer.
Man United loaned him to Aston Villa in the second half of last season after he fell out of favor under manager Ruben Amorim, who insisted in January that he preferred goalkeeping coach over Rashford.
Rashford had a slow start at Barcelona, with rumors that he could be released from his contract early, but he has now found his footing in the La Liga side.
The England international has scored five goals and provided four assists in his last 12 games in all competitions for Barcelona, including two goals in midweek’s 6-1 Champions League win over Olympiakos.
And Rashford has now revealed that he absolutely wants to stay at Barcelona after his loan deal from Man United expires in the summer.

Asked if he wanted to stay at Barcelona, Rashford told ESPN:
“I enjoy this football club. For those who love football, I think Barcelona is one of the most important clubs in the history of football. It’s an honor for the players.”
Rashford added: “I was in the same place for years. People forget, but 24, 23 years of my life were spent at Manchester United.”
“So sometimes you need a change. I guess this is my case. Yeah, I’m enjoying everything.”

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano claims Rashford is “sending a very clear message” about his future as Barcelona consider triggering the option on his loan deal from Man United.
Romano said on his YouTube channel: “Rashford is doing great at Barcelona. Rashford is sending a very clear message.”
“His desire to become a Barcelona player has been going on since January 2025. In the January period, almost a year ago, a deal could not materialize because Ansu Fati did not want to leave the club in January and Barcelona did not have the space to register and sign Rashford.”
“And in the summer, Ansu Fati accepted the possibility of leaving Barcelona and went to Monaco, and Barcelona had space to sign Rashford, completing the move on a loan deal with a €30 million buy option clause.”
“At the moment Rashford is showing great performances, he has already reached 10 goal contributions in terms of goals and assists, he has done very well in the Champions League and he can play both as a striker and as a winger. You can see how comfortable Rashford is at Barcelona.”
“We’ve been saying this for weeks now, but the feeling inside Barça is that Rashford fits really perfectly into Barcelona’s tactical structure. They’re also very happy with all the relationships that Rashford has with his team-mates.”
