EXCLUSIVE: Matt Nable and Ella Newton will star in Who Needs Love Songs?, the debut feature film of Kieran Wheeler. Wheeler penned the script and will produce with Tom Savige, under their Broken Egg Films production banner.
Plot details are being kept under wraps, but the film is described as an urban crime drama with aspects of social realism. The film is in production.
Nable recently starred in Netflix’s Apple Cider Vinegar, while film credits include The Dry, Hacksaw Ridge and Transfusion, which he also wrote and directed.
Newton can most recently be seen in Dangerous Animals. Her credits also include Harrow and SeaChange.
Wheeler’s short film Jungle was an official selection at the 2021 Melbourne International Film Festival.
