Paul Mason told Arsenal that “pressure is on” if they can’t beat the Premier League this season, as Ebeki Eze was a “missing piece” for them.
Arsenal reportedly agreed to sign Star Eze of Crystal Palace. The attacking midfielder was directly involved in 25 goals in all competitions last season and looked doomed to something bigger.
For the past few days, a move to Tottenham seemed most likely. The North London outfit felt that he had almost agreed to his signature.
However, after Kai Herberts was injured this week, Arsenal came out of nowhere to hijack their rivals for Eze’s signature.
And after three consecutive finishes in the second place Premier League, Merson feels that gunners should win the title given the star’s signature.
He told Sky Sports: “He’s the X-Factor. I think he’s the missing piece of Arsenal, who won the Premier League.
“I think (Andrea Berta’s) bought an incredible amount of money. They needed a holding midfield player. They bought a top drawer.
“They needed a centre forward. They bought a centre forward. Now they bought someone who could break the defense. He could get with a lot of teams.
“I’ve seen Arsenal a lot, and when pressure is under them, they find it difficult to beat the team. They rely on (Martin) Odegard.
“(Bukayo) Saka is injured. He is the other one they rely on. Suddenly, you have him (Eze). He is in a different class, he is in a different class.”

Eze is expected to take on Arsenal and his medicine on Friday afternoon. He was supposed to play for Fredrikstad and Crystal Palace in the Europa Conference League on Thursday night, but Oliver Glasner originally said that both he and the exit, Mark Guech, should both be on the side.
However, Eze was not particularly noticeable from the Eagles. Glasner explained that it was illness that prevented the midfielder from playing in European tie.
Glasner said: “Honestly, he expected it to start for us today, but he called me this morning and said it would be bad to play in the evening, and of course I have to accept that.
