Greenland 2: Migration, starring Gerard Butler, will be released on Jan. 9, 2026 via Lionsgate.
The Santa Monica, CA studio’s Mutiny, which was previously dated for Jan. 9, 2026 will look for a summer release, a date to be determined in the future.
The original Greenland was set for release by STX Entertainment when it was in its full operation. The movie was sidelined by Covid but hobbled through, nabbing a $20M-$30M HBO streaming deal stateside, and also getting a release abroad where theaters were open, notching No. 1 in 26 countries and including Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and Russia, grossing more than $52 million internationally.
Greenland 2: Migration is produced by Anton, STX Entertainment, Thunder Road Pictures and G-base Entertainment. STX is handling international distribution of Greenland 2: Migration through its global network of partners.
In part 2, the Garrity family (Gerard Butler, Morena Baccarin, and Roman Griffith Davis) are forced to leave the safety of their bunker in Greenland to traverse a shattered world in search of a new home.
