WASHINGTON (AP) — A National Guard vehicle collided with a civilian vehicle less than a mile from the U.S. Capitol on Thursday morning. Donald Trump’s control.
According to Vito Maggiolo, a spokesman for the DC Fire Department, one person was trapped inside the vehicle after the accident and had to be rescued by an emergency responder. The person was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
It was not immediately clear what caused the crash. A video posted online showed a tan armored vehicle and a crushed sided silver SUV. Military vehicles were twice as tall as civilian vehicles.
“You come to our city and this is what you’re doing? Seriously?” a woman screaming at the army in the video.
The driver was consciousness and breathing, and injuries were not considered life-threatening, police said.
An estimated 1,900 units are deployed in DC, with more than half of Republican-led states responding to requests from Trump administration officials.
Attorney General Pam Bondy More than 550 people have been arrested so far, and the former US said it is offering a $500 reward for information leading to additional arrests.
“Together, we’ll make DC safe again!” Bondi wrote on social media.
