Starting this week, Netflix subscribers will be able to play games on their smart TVs. This feature has been in the works for some time. Reports about Netflix’s efforts to bring mobile games to TV began in early 2023. Later that year, the company launched a game controller app for iOS devices.
However, there hasn’t been much talk about the game on the big screen until now, but it looks like those expectations are finally over.
To use this new feature, go to the (Games) tab in the Netflix TV app, select a game, and use your phone as a controller.
Netflix’s strategy has changed somewhat since it launched mobile gaming four years ago. But recent moves indicate it’s more serious about expanding its gaming offerings and competing more directly with major video game companies as well as mobile gaming rivals.
Alongside this announcement, Netflix also revealed new games, all of which are party titles meant to be played in groups.
These include:
Boggle Party: Up to eight players time themselves to find words on a grid of scrambled letters. LEGO Party!: 4 players compete in mini-games and challenges. Party Crasher: Cheating on Friends: One person at this party secretly doesn’t know what everyone else is talking about. Find suspicious clues to uncover Crusher’s true identity. Pictionary: Game Night: Based on the classic group game, your friends have to guess what you’re drawing before time runs out. Tetris Time Warp: Compete with your friends for the best score.
Launching a group game is a smart move for Netflix as it will encourage more customers to participate. This means users stay engaged with streaming services even when they’re not watching TV series or movies.

The addition of five titles builds on recent insights into Netflix’s current gaming strategy, which will focus on four types of games, including party titles.
The game is currently available on select TV screens in certain countries, but Netflix plans to expand its availability over time.
