Newsletter platform beehiiv on Thursday announced major expansions to its platform, including offerings such as real-time analytics and AI website creation.
Tyler Denk, co-founder and CEO of beehiiv, said in a video announcing the release that ownership is what makes the newsletter platform powerful.
“It’s about owning the audience, the distribution, the brand and even the revenue potential,” he said. “In the age of AI and algorithms, ownership is not just nice to have, it’s essential.”
The hope is that it will further give creators (and journalists) more control and opportunities to scale and grow their businesses on the platform.
Complete product enhancements include:
beehiiv allows creators to sell digital products such as e-books without receiving a commission. Next year, creators will be able to sell courses and products. A feature that allows creators to build websites using AI without advanced code or developers. In fact, the version product was launched a few months ago and followed beehiiv’s acquisition of AI website builder Typedream last year.
Thursday’s announcement revealed that the product now allows users to build complete websites simply by chatting with an AI. This means you can also vibecode your website. However, users don’t just need to verbally speak to the AI. You can also drag and drop images. For example, you can even upload images or screenshots of other people’s websites to the AI and have it recreate them. Ability for creators to host and release podcasts on their respective Beehiive platforms. This allows creators to put their podcasts, newsletters, and websites on one platform instead of having them split between three. Real-time analytics to track engagement and traffic, along with a breakdown of which channels are getting the most users. By providing a “link in bio”, creators can link to their beehiiv works as well as other digital platforms without using a third party link in bio company. We provide professionally designed website templates to make your website or newsletter look higher quality. We’re also releasing newsletter templates to give your website and newsletter a consistent branded look. Ability to segment audiences – meaning creators can create specific content for specific segments of their audience. Creators can now group followers by location, age, and even gender. Automated workflows — For example, when a user subscribes, authors can set up a welcome email to be sent automatically. beehiiv started releasing automated workflow features a few weeks ago. Improved advertiser tools, including viewing advertising opportunities and seeing estimated payouts. Deku said creators can upload assets, set budgets and launch campaigns on the platform. Additionally, beehiiv has a new advertising dashboard that allows creators to track campaign performance and create their own custom reports. beehiiv has no fees for paid subscriptions (the company says it’s the only platform that doesn’t take a cut of the revenue from paid subscriptions). This feature comes with subscription tiers and analytics.
Beehiiv currently believes it is the first platform to encapsulate the entire content creation workflow, as users on the platform can “create, publish, grow, analyze, and monetize” without fees, plugins, code, or surrendering capital.
In the video, Denk said that beehiiv is no longer just a newsletter platform, but an operating system for the creator economy. With this expansion, we hope to compete with the likes of Lovable, WordPress, and Patreon.
