NEW YORK (AP) – Designer Christian Siriano, hidden behind a cream curtain, has transformed the athlete Isle at Herald Square Macy’s Department Store into a cinema universe. New York Fashion Week The runway shows attendees traveling through films from black and white gowns to perfect Technicolor looks.
Just like his runway show inspiration, VIP’s guest list was straight from Hollywood. Whoopi Goldberg sat between Oprah and singer Rizzo. The front row celebrities cheered when longtime Siriano Muse Kokorocha opened a catwalk with her classic high-powered supermodel struts and paired black and white stripes and polka dot organza blazer with miniskirts and matching hats.
For the Spring 2026 collection, Sigliano said she was inspired by actor Marlene Dietrich and how she played in both female and male styles.
“Many of the collection is black and white, but there are a lot of textures,” he said. “We end up with this beautiful plaid sequins, polka dots, stripes… she wears in her repertoire of clothes of her kind and with that idea.
The model, who stuck to the theme of old Hollywood glamour, wore her hair in smooth back pans with one pinker wave. With a modern twist, some models wore blazers structured with tights alone.
From tailored blazers to huge bubble dresses, Siriano played in patterns and structures throughout his collection.
Stripes, polka dots, plaids
Siliano relied on a colour palette to transport participants to silver screens with black and white patterns at the top of the show, with polka dots, stripes and black and white patterns, and shifted his looks to technicolor fabrics such as Tiffany Blue Ball Gowns and Barbie Pink disassembled tuxedo dresses.
The show was the first of the “White Lotus” star Natasha Rothwell. “I want to spend an insane amount,” she said after the show. “At my first fashion show, that was everything.”
Participants are ready for tulle and corset dramas. Singer Adam Lambert has arrived in a bronze belted blazer coat that matches the shades of oversized bronze sunglasses.
On the runway, Siriano dressed up models of all sizes, genders and backgrounds of the design. The designers continued to advocate for inclusivity, while others pulled back.
“It’s important to mix beautiful people,” he said.
Hats are abundant
Sigriano decorated his designs with a series of flat tops and oversized whimsical hats. The designer himself wears his pretty hat.
Siliano, who won the design competition “Project Runway” in 2007, has recently returned to provide her expertise as a mentor to emerging designers in the latest iteration of the show, featuring Image Architect Lowroach and supermodel Heidi Crum.
Siriano is also the creative director of the Macy’s Perity-To-Wear Inc brand, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary. Siliano said he hopes to bring customers back to retail shopping by bringing Fashion Week to Macy’s.
Minutes before the start of the runway show, Siriano’s backstage crew had sewn and landed on the final look of the night worn by Rosha, whose show stop moment became a distinctive element of Siriano’s show. In a swirl gown with black and white polka dots, Rosha posed elegantly as if distorted from the shoulders, looking to close the catwalk
“I love how the show is becoming more like a performance too,” Siriano said. “I want people to feel like they’re in a different world when they walk through the room. We work hard to make all these beautiful things. I think it’s an escapism.
