Warner Bros. Discovery has unveiled a new slate of cable originals hosted by the likes of Octavia Spencer, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Tom Bergeron.
Channing Dungey, Chairman and CEO of the Warner Bros. Television Group and US Networks unveiled the new titles at the company’s Upfront presentation in New York – the first time since she took over the cable networks earlier this year,
Dungey oversees Discovery, Food Network, HGTV, Investigation Discovery, TBS, TNT, TLC, Adult Swim and OWN following Kathleen Finch’s retirement in addition to running the TV studio.
“Our strength lies in our ability to create shows that dominate the zeitgeist,” said Dungey. “We produced six of the top 10 new unscripted series on cable last year, and we’ll continue to push the boundaries of great storytelling to serve the dedicated fans of our signature franchises in bold new ways.”
On the Food Network, Oscar winner Spencer is hosting competition show Family Recipe Showdown and Guy Fieri has a new series – Guy’s Flavortown Games. Discovery is launching Dancing with Sharks (w/t), a Shark Week special hosted by former Dancing with the Stars host Bergeron. I Know What You Did Last Summer star Jennifer Love Hewitt is the latest high-profile name to front a crime series for Investigation Discovery, which is also working on a new series with Vanity Fair Studios and Dick Wolf’s Wolf Entertainment. HGTV has home renovation competition Renovating the Bachelor Mansion (w/t) and OWN is debuting reality series Heart & Hustle: Houston (w/t).
Elsewhere, during the presentation, Dungey previewed TLC’s upcoming 90 Day: Hunt for Love, the next spin-off in the 90 Day Fiancé franchise, and TNT’s High Value Target (w/t), the scripted series formerly known as Debriefing The President. The latter will also air Max original The Pitt on linear ahead of its season two premiere on the streamer.
Guy’s Flavortown Games, which will premiere in early 2026, follows two chefs as they are invited to restaurant row at the heart of Flavortown Square to prove they have the cooking cred. Guy’s Flavortown Games is produced by Knuckle Sandwich and Lando Entertainment.
Family Recipe Showdown is a home cooking competition that celebrates secret family recipes and traditions with duos competing for a $10,000 prize. Hosted by Spencer, judge Edgar “Dook” Chase is joined by the likes of Reese Witherspoon, Jessica Chastain, Danielle Brooks, Eric Stonestreet, Tina Knowles, Kandi Burrus, Tim Gunn, and Al Roker with his daughter Leila in the show, which will air later this year. Family Recipe Showdown is produced by Hello Sunshine and Orit Entertainment.
Heart & Hustle: Houston is Jesse Collins Entertainment’s first reality series and follows a group of successful Black women in Houston. It will launch this summer.
Dancing with Sharks is an underwater dance competition between expert divers and their shark partners. Five divers trained by an underwater choreographer will compete. Dancing with Sharks is produced by Pilgrim Media Group.
Love Hewitt hosts and exec produces They Know What They Did, which explores a group of interconnected individuals haunted by a murder from their past. It will launch this summer. They Know What They Did is produced by Bunim/Murray Productions.
Also at ID, is a new series from Law & Order and One Chicago boss Dick Wolf and Vanity Fair with the latter’s journalism as the basis for true-crime stories.
Renovating the Bachelor Mansion is a competition series that sees former Bachelor and Bachelorette contestants who possess expert reno skills duke it out in various design challenges with the hope of winning a cash prize.
