On Friday evening, Manchester United was allegedly “accepted the bid” by Antony Real Betis, and Winger was set to return to Spain for medical care, but the deal now appears to be tattered.
Antony enjoyed a productive spell with Betis and Loan late last season, rebuilding his reputation with nine goals and five assists in 26 appearances for the LaLiga side.
He has since returned to United, but was one of five players who were expelled by United boss Ruben Amorim at the start of the preseason, and was forced to train from Carrington’s first team while the club searched for a transfer solution.
The Saudiian professional league club approached United and had links to Serie A alternative option, but Eric Tenhug was rumoured to be interested in bringing his Red Devils flop to Bayer Levalksen.
However, Antony set his mind back in Betis and after weeks of negotiation it was allegedly agreed in his £25 million move.
Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany wrote to X: “Manchester United and Real Betis have agreed to a permanent #Antony deal revealed via @Skysports_sheth.
Interestingly, Fabrizio Romano claimed that they were not “green light,” but many other reporters confirmed the claims of Plettenberg’s contract.
Romano wrote: “There is no immediate trip for Antony at this stage as the real Betis and Manchester United are still negotiating. Permanent moves, 50% sell-on clauses, salary and exit conditions are being discussed.
And Betis’ official statement followed immediately, confirming that he had not only never reached an agreement, but also that he had “resceded the offer” for the 25-year-old.
The statement reads: “Anthony has no agreement and has withdrawn the offer. We cannot afford the fees and amounts that Manchester United must pay the player on behalf of the payments and amounts before transferring.

The proposal is that the stumbling block is related to payments to Antony regarding his unpaid wages in a unified contract that will be implemented by 2027.
Meanwhile, Kobbie Mainoo has “doubled” by Amorim insisting he wants to leave United at a press conference on Friday, despite hoping that academy alumni will stay with the club.
Mainoo told the club on Thursday that he wanted to leave loan this season to play football in the World Cup year, but before Amorim dealt with the situation on Friday, United declined the request.
He told the press conference:
“The rest of the article doesn’t know how it ends. I understand that players who aren’t playing in this moment are disappointed, but everyone has the same opportunity. You have to fight that week.”
However, Daily Mail claims that “the rebellious Mainoo remains determined to leave on the last day of the window, and “repeated his desires” over the weekend.
