Newcastle United striker Alexander Isaac is believed to be Liverpool’s “missing link” by former Red defender John Arne Leeds.
Reds aims to bring Swedish international this summer, despite signing Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez and Hugo Ekitike for big spending.
Isaac was the target of their dreams this summer, but the attitude that Newcastle was not for sale left Liverpool with little hope of landing the striker this summer.
However, last week, Isak revealed to Magpies that despite qualifying for the Champions League in Newcastle, he wanted to leave St. James Park in pursuit of a move to Liverpool.
Liverpool then bids on the Swedes for £110 million. The Swedes have been rejected by Newcastle, but claim they will return for Isaac, but only if Geordy gives them a clear indication that they are willing to negotiate.
Newcastle reportedly has a rating of ISAK at around £150 million, and former Liverpool defender Riise doesn’t know if the deal is well worth it, but he thinks it’s a perfect fit for Anfield.

Riise told Olbg.com: “It was summer. There are days when I think, ‘Yeah, he’ll sign,’ and on the other days, I think, ‘I have no chance.’
“What’s exciting is his moves. He’s fast, he’s a great finisher and he’s hungry.
“But you read so many stories from people you think they know everything, and they don’t have the answer.
“Newcastle will be hard to convince. This may come down to what Isaac himself says to the club. But it’s all about money, right? Newcastle is in a strong position. They know the club wants him.
“At the same time, do you want to keep unfortunate players at your club? If they decide not to sell because the prices are not met, how will he play for Newcastle next season?

Riise added:
“It’s going to be a great sign for Liverpool, but for now, it looks like it’s difficult because they’ve already rejected so many offers. You know the time!”
The former Liverpool Fullbackleys continued. “I think he fits perfectly with Liverpool’s style.
“Looking at Darwin Nunes, he had so many opportunities in doing those runs over the last few years, and if Nunes had a little more luck (or calm) in front of the goal, he would have gotten an incredible amount.
“I think Alexander Isaac is a step. He is calm, more deadly in front of the goal, and perhaps smarter in his moves.
“So I think Isaac is good for Liverpool — especially in the way we play. I understand why Liverpool is going everything for him.
