Dwayne Maynard, Marcus Rashford’s brother and agent, has reportedly been first approached by two London clubs about a return to the Premier League.
Rashford is on loan from Manchester United for the second time in recent seasons. Although he is one of their main goal threats, the Red Devils man has never counted manager Ruben Amorim as a fan.
That was clear as soon as the Portuguese manager walked through the door in November 2024, which led to Rashford being loaned to Aston Villa and now at Barcelona.
Reports have long suggested Rashford would like to play for the Spanish giants, and given that he has already scored six goals and provided nine assists for Barça, he could be in the hunt for a steal with a €30m (about £2.62bn) buyout option, potentially making him a permanent fixture.
However, El Nacional newspaper reports that the United player’s future in Spain is “far from guaranteed”. There are reportedly questions within the club as to whether Rashford’s option is worth paying.
Barca believe the money they could spend on an English player could be spent on a star striker instead.
Even if they don’t sign Rashford, he still has options. He is said to be considering signing with them in case he does not already have a permanent contract with Barça, which is his preference.
In fact, he does not want to waste his time and is said to be open to a move to another club if Barça decide they no longer need him.
His brother and agent Maynard is said to have already held talks with Chelsea and Tottenham in London about his future.
Both sides are said to have made initial contact with Rashford to persuade him to leave.

Tottenham have struggled to find a suitable left winger this season, so the Englishman would be the perfect man there, but the move may not be welcomed as the Blues have a number of forward options.
In any case, it is known that Rashford does not want to return to United and if they want to sign him, his preference is to remain at Barça.
Considering he has provided more assists than any other player in La Liga this season, it suggests Barça are happy with signing him as he is in top form and has had a huge impact on the second-placed club.
The uncertainty surrounding Barca’s transfer does not seem the most reasonable, and given that he is priced cheaper than other players with similar impact, it may not be wise to let him go and try to sign a better player for a similar amount.
