Reports say Liverpool will line up Real Madrid forward Rodrigo’s moves on the deadline day if Newcastle refuses to take Alexander Isaac.
With the Magpie taking a strong stance on his future, the Reds were unlikely to land Swedish International at the beginning of the summer.
However, Liverpool was given enough encouragement to Newcastle quickly reject the offer and place a £110 million bid early in the window.
Isaac has since been on a strike and is reportedly refusing to play again for Newcastle in search of a move to Liverpool before the deadline.
The Newcastle striker went until he called out the club in a statement, claiming that “the relationship cannot continue when the promise is broken and trust is lost.”
Their Saudi Arabian owners have recently flew to talks with Isaac to end the saga, but a report on Tuesday claims that Liverpool’s transfer targets “are eager to leave Newcastle United despite his enthusiastic intervention to encourage a deal that leads to the club’s remaining strikers.
Since then, it has been allegedly argued that Liverpool is currently preparing to formalise ISAK’s new offer “beyond the £130 million mark,” while Newcastle is believed to be demanding £150 million to consider selling.
And now Givemesport argues that Liverpool “in the hope of trying a deadline day to sign Real Madrid star Rodrigo if they can’t convince Newcastle to sell Isaac.”
Rodrigo, who is reportedly valued at 100 million euros (£86 million), has lowered his pecking order in Real Madrid and may be looking for regular first-team football.
According to the report, “GMS sources have been notified that Liverpool will be able to participate in the race of Rodrigo, which has registered 23 goals involved during the 2024/25 campaign.

Sky Sports reporter Keith Downey suspects that even if the Newcastle hierarchy has a breakthrough in speaking with Liverpool’s target, it’s “hard to reintegrate” ISAK.
Downey told Sky Sports:
“If he remains a Newcastle player, I suggest that he will not be able to play Leeds this weekend.
“But more pessimistic, you might think that it’s probably the meeting that resolves the finality of the situation. But until you know what happened with these four walls, all the options are on the table.
“Isaac still wants to leave the club and is being dragged over for a long time. Given the strong sense of supporters, it’s difficult to reintegrate into the team.
“A few of what I heard at St James Park last night are looking at banners. I think it’s difficult to reintegrate, but if Liverpool doesn’t come to the table with an accepted offer, he’ll remain a Newcastle player.
“In the last few weeks, Newcastle has been desperate about replacing them. They have tried Ekichike and Sesco. They have tried many times and failed.
