“Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is a threat to the health and well-being of all Americans,” Joseph P. Kennedy III said in an X post. His aunt repeated those claims, saying, “Medical decisions fall under the hands of trained, licensed professionals, not incompetent and false leadership.”

This is not the first time Kennedy has been the subject of his family’s rage. Some of his relatives opposed the president’s run in their final campaign, but others wrote to the senator earlier this year, calling on Trump’s health secretary to refuse his appointment as he was considered a life-saving vaccine disqualification.
Kennedy, a longtime anti-vaccine leader, has spent the past seven months bringing once niche grassroots movements to the highest level of the American public health system. The drastic changes to the institutions responsible for public health policy and scientific research have resulted in thousands of layoffs and remakes of vaccine guidelines.
