Fabrizio Romano has revealed Liverpool’s “dream target” if Alexander Isaac misses as Real Madrid star Rodrigo is caught up in a potential transfer domino.
Isak has revealed to the Newcastle hierarchy that he wants to leave St James’ Park this summer, but the Club Chiefs declined Liverpool’s £110 million bid for his services last week.
The Reds have already spent a lot this summer, with Markey adding Florian Wiltz, Hugo Echicchique, Milos Kerkez and Jeremy Fripon to spend well over £250 million.
However, they have also made around £120 million through player sales, and together with Darwin Nunes, they are further increasing their financial resources, and are on the verge of a move to Al Hilal on the side of the Saudi Arabian professional league.
The report suggests that they are currently training alone and will not increase the bids for Isaac, which is banned from Eddie Howe’s family barbecue in doubt about his future.
L’Equipe revealed on Wednesday that Liverpool has not “given Isaac” but will “check Bradley Barcora’s name to enhance the attack.”
Journalist Sacha Tavolieri claimed that Liverpool is planning to make a “specific offer” for the 22-year-old.
He writes to X: The Reds were very determined during their recent talk to turn their interest into bids. The transaction is not less than 100 million euros. The ISAK situation explains this new strategy for #LFC. Real influence. Follow more.”

And now, Romano has confirmed that Barcola is Liverpool’s “dream target,” but insists that the winger will not take part if Newcastle joins the “open door” at Isaac’s exit for Anfield.
He said on his YouTube channel: “It’s not Barcola and Isaac. If they can get him, Isaac remains a priority for Liverpool tonight.
“If ISAK can’t trade, Barcola is considered a dream target in Liverpool. As of today, Liverpool has not been in contact with Barcola agents or Paris Saint-Germain, but if Newcastle closes the door to Isaac, they can try Barcola before the end of the window.
“PSG doesn’t want to sell Barcola. After Bayern Munich approached with interest in the winger in June, they prepared a new huge contract offer at the end of the window. The only way Barcola leaves is to say they want to join Liverpool.
“When Liverpool goes to Barcola, the name he will watch for PSG is Rodrigo of Real Madrid. He wants to stay and fight for his position in Real Madrid, but inside at PSG, Rodrigo could be an option to replace Barcola.”
