Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed his thoughts on reports linking Premier League giants Liverpool and AFC Bournemouth star Antoine Semenyo.
Semenyo was one of the standout players in the Premier League at the start of this season, scoring six goals and providing three assists in 10 appearances for powerhouse Bournemouth.
The 25-year-old has taken his game to the next level this season and his performances have attracted interest from several Premier League teams.
Manchester United and Liverpool are among the teams linked with Semenyo, who has been linked as a long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah.
Bayern Munich’s Michael Olise has also been mentioned as a possible replacement for Salah, who has been at times criticized this season after his performances have declined since signing a new two-year contract extension.

However, Semenyo now appears to be their preferred target, with reports this week having ‘made an offer’ worth £65m for the Bournemouth star, who has a release clause in his current contract.
The amount of Semenyo’s contract is unknown, but Romano poured cold water on reports suggesting Semenyo could join Liverpool in January.
“I don’t think he’ll leave mid-season, I don’t think that’s going to happen at Liverpool,” Romano told GiveMeSport’s Market Madness podcast.
“I think Liverpool will be very quiet in January. It might be different in the summer.
“I still want to respect Bournemouth and let the players enjoy themselves. It’s only November and they don’t plan on him leaving in January.”
“It’s a very interesting situation because there’s a lot of interest in this player and there’s a release clause, but I think it’s in the summer. As for January, it’s very unlikely.”

Former Premier League star Chris Waddle has explained why he thinks Semenap is the “best winger” in the division this term.
“Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo is definitely the best at the moment,” Waddle said.
“I like Doc at Manchester City, but he doesn’t play enough. He’s subbed out too often by Josep Guardiola.
“Semenyo is good at scoring goals, he’s positive, he scores good goals. When he gets the ball he drives towards the players. I think Bournemouth will have a hard time keeping him at the end of the season.”
“He’s really talented and the best winger in the country at the moment.”
