Fabrizio Romano revealed that Manchester United has fallen into a “decision” with the new central midfielder after revealing their “secret” interest in the Bayern Munich star.
To date, United have completed high-profile signatures by Mateus Cuña and Brian Mbeumo to bolster Reuben Amorim’s forward option, but this summer they signed a young left-backed-back Diego Leon.
They are currently focusing their efforts on signing a new striker whose Benjamin Sesco of RB Leipzig is considered to be their top target.
Last week, Sesco was argued that he was leaning towards moving to Old Trafford even without European football, in a claim from Fabrizio Romano that the footballer was “scary” to join United’s big rival Newcastle for his signature.
Earlier on Saturday, it was allegedly that Newcastle actually “wind the fight” for Sesco, but while releasing details of Newcastle’s first official offer to the Slovenians, Ben Jacobs insisted that the striker has yet to determine his future.
He writes to X: Newcastle’s tactic was always to get a quick agreement with Leipzig, and sometimes #MUFC would not match.
As reported yesterday, Newcastle will always bid for Leipzig first without a contract to participate. #MUFC is also working on purchasing players. Both clubs are active.
“For clarity: Newcastle pitched its finances to Sesco before bidding, and these are acceptable, but there is no green light to participate yet. Sesko has not decided on the next club as of Saturday morning. The decision could come right now. The big difference between getting a “yes” to actually participate. It may come, but there isn’t yet. This bid was made without knowing yet which Club Sesco had chosen.

However, Amorim is also keen to add a new central midfielder to his rank after Christian Eriksen departed at the end of the contract, and Romano leaked United’s “secret” interest in Joan Palchña, who is at stake in Tottenham’s move before revealing the Red Devils Pivot to a more creative midfield option.
Romano goes to the podcast here. “I can give you one secret. I thought of the opportunity to go to the beginning of the window, the end of June/early June, for Joan Parghinha, a Portuguese, like Reuben Amorim.
“Man United ultimately decided to go to another player who doesn’t hold a defensive midfielder, and while still defensive, the vision is even stronger.
Transfer experts have not named potential targets, but many reports claim that Amorim is interested in signing Morten Holmand, who thrived under him in the sport.
