One actor is said to have been forced to say “adieu” to Emily in Paris.
Rupert Everett, who played a small role as interior designer Giorgio Barbieri in the season 4 finale, claimed he was fired from the Netflix show, sharing how deeply he was influenced by the decision.
“I made a scene in my latest season and they told me, ‘Next year, we’ll talk,'” he told Vanity Fair Italia in an interview released on July 29th. “I was waiting for them to call me.
He said, “Show business is always very difficult from start to finish. When you write a script, I think they want you, but things change and you lose your character. I don’t know why.”
But despite his knowledge of the industry, Rupert said the decision was still at a casualty. “For me, it was a tragedy,” said the 66-year-old. “I couldn’t get through it, so I was in bed for two weeks.”
E! The news reached out to Netflix for comment, but has not heard it yet.
