Kiev, Ukraine (AP) – Russia attacked the Ukrainian capital with missiles and drones overnight, killing at least six people, including a six-year-old boy, Ukrainian authorities said Thursday.
Kyiv City’s junta principal Tymur Tkachenko said at least 52 people were injured in the attack, and the number would likely increase.
Tkachenko collapsed after most of the nine-storey residential building collided with each other. The rescue team was on the scene to save people trapped under the roof rubber.

Images from the scene showed feathers of smoke emanating from partially damaged buildings and debris scattered across the ground. The blast power became so strong that it made my clothes hang limp and hang from the wood.
Residents refused police orders to not return to the scene of the attack to retrieve their belongings. Prime Minister Julia Swillidenko and Home Minister Ihol Klimenko have arrived on the scene.
At least 27 locations on Kyiv were hit by attacks, Tkachenko said the heaviest damage was seen in the Solomianski and Sviatsinski districts.
