Kiev, Ukraine (AP) — Russian glide bombs and ballistic missiles attacked Ukrainian prisons and medical facilities overnight, as merciless strikes against Russian civilian regions killed 22 people across the country, officials said Tuesday despite US President Donald Trump. The threat that will immediately punish Russia Unless sanctions and tariffs stop.
Four powerful Russians Sliding bomb Authorities said he was attacked by a prison in the Zaporidia region of southeastern Zaporidia in Ukraine. They killed at least 17 inmates and injured more than 80 others, officials said.
In the Dnipro region of central Ukraine, authorities said Russian missiles partially destroyed the three-storey building and destroyed nearby medical facilities, including maternity hospitals and municipal wards. Officials said at least four people have been killed and eight have been injured, including a 23-year-old pregnant woman.
Ukrainian President Voldimi Zelensky said 22 people have been killed in Russian strikes in 73 cities, towns and villages across the country. “These were conscious and intentional strikes. It wasn’t a coincidence,” Zelensky said in the telegram.
Trump said Monday he was giving Russian President Vladimir Putin for 10-12 days to stop the killings in Ukraine After three years of warraised the 50-day deadline he gave to the Russian leader two weeks ago. The move meant that Trump hoped to advance peace efforts by August 7-9.
Trump has repeatedly rebuked Putin for continuing to attack Ukrainian civilians, as he is talking about the end of the war. However, the Kremlin has not changed its tactics.

Zelensky welcomed Trump’s move towards the timeline. “Everyone needs peace – responsible leaders from Ukraine, Europe, the United States and around the world,” Zelensky wrote in a Telegram post. “Everyone except Russia.”
The Kremlin is pushed back to Trump
The Kremlin pushed back, and the top lieutenant colonel warned Trump that he was “playing an ultimatum game with Russia.”
“Russia is neither Israel nor Iran,” former President Dmitry Medvedev, deputy director of the country’s security council, wrote on Social Platform X.
“Each new ultimatum is a threat and a step towards war, not between Russia and Ukraine, but between their own country,” Medvedev said.
Since the full-scale invasion of Russian neighbours, the Kremlin has warned Western supporters of Kiev that their involvement could expand the war on NATO countries.
“Kremlin officials continue to frame Russia like a direct geopolitical conflict with the West to generate domestic support for the war in Ukraine and future Russian attacks on NATO,” the Washington Think Tank Institute said late Monday.
Russia attacks with glide bombs, drones and missiles
The Ukrainian Air Force said Russia had fired two Iskander M ballistic missiles in Ukraine along with 37 Shahed strike drones and decoys. It said 32 Shahed drones were intercepted or neutralised by Ukraine’s air defense.
According to Ukraine’s provincial criminal execution service, a Russian attack near midnight on Monday hit the Bilenkivska correctional facility equipped with a glide bomb.
The Glide bomb, a Soviet-era bomb, is a modified retractable fin and guidance system, laying waste in cities in eastern Ukraine where Russian forces are trying to penetrate Ukraine’s defenses. The bomb carries up to 3,000 kilograms (6,600 pounds) of explosives.
At least 42 inmates were seriously injured, and another 40 people, including one staff member, suffered various injuries.
The strike destroyed the prison cafeteria, smashing managers and quarantine buildings, but the boundary fence was held and the authorities said they were unable to escape.
Ukrainian officials have condemned the attack, saying targeting civilian infrastructure, such as prisons, is a war crime under international custom.
The assault occurred just three years after the explosion killed more than 50 people at Orenibka detention facility in the Russian-occupied Donetsk region. Dozens of Ukrainian prisoners have been killed.
Russia and Ukraine accused each other of fired prisons. The Associated Press interviewed More than 12 people with first-hand knowledge of the details of the attack, including survivors, investigators, and dead and missing families. All evidence explained that they believe they directly refer to Russia as the perpetrator. The AP also obtained an internal UN analysis that discovered the same.
Further Russian attacks have attacked the community with FPV drones and air bombs in the Synelnykivskyi district, killing at least one person and wounding two others, said area governor Serhii Lysak.
According to Lisack, Russian troops also targeted the Velykomykhailivska community, killing a 75-year-old woman and injuring a 68-year-old man.
Ukraine launches long-range drones
Ukraine has attempted to counterattack Russian strikes by developing its own long-range drone technology, attacking oil depots, weapons plants and disrupt commercial flights.
The Russian Ministry of Defense said on Tuesday that air defense had overnight over the course of 74 Ukrainian drones in several regions, including 43 in the Bryansk region.
Yuri Slyusar, head of the Rostov region, said a man from Sarsk city was killed in a drone attack and sparked a fire at Sarsk station.
Officials said freight trains were on fire at Sarsk station and rail traffic via Sarsk was suspended. The explosion shattered the windows with two cars on the passenger train, causing passengers to evacuate.
