EXCLUSIVE: Shaquita Smith (Wicked City) has signed on to produce and star in the action-adventure flick Voyage of the Forgotten.
The indie feature tells the story of a young historian (Smith) who embarks on a perilous journey to uncover the long-lost adventure gallery ship, laden with gold, only to find herself entangled in a deadly game of deception and betrayal.
The film is set to shoot in the UK in the late spring of 2025. The film was written by Malcom Ali (The Changers).
Voyage of the Forgotten is a TreeHouse Productions film.
Best known for starring in AMC’s popular series Wicked City and the feature My Valentine Crush for Paramount Global’s BET+ opposite Travis Cure (The Oval) and Jeff Logan (Double Cross). My Valentine Crush is a rom-com in which a woman (Smith) makes an unexpected connection with an internet technician (Cure), leading her to have a Valentine’s Day she’ll never forget and evaluate her current relationship with her boyfriend (Logan).
Smith studied acting at Troy State University in Alabama. She was also previously a pageant girl and competed in Miss Georgia USA. She has also guest-starred in television series including New Amsterdam, NCIS: New Orleans, Hap & Leonard, Homicide Hunter, and Survivor’s Remorse, among others.
She is represented by Exclusive Talent, Untamed Artists, and Wonder Street.
