“Skibidi” is one of the slang terms that has become popular through social media, and this year it is one of more than 6,000 additional additions to the Cambridge Dictionary.
Colin MacIntosh, vocabulary program manager for Cambridge Dictionary, the world’s largest online dictionary, said:
“Skibidi” is a meaningless term coined by the creators of animated YouTube series, which can be used in the true sense of meaning “cool” or “bad” or as a joke.
Other planned additions, such as “TradWife,” a contraction of “traditional wife,” referring to a married mother who cooks, cleans and posts on social media, and a shortened “Delulu,” the phrase “usually means believing in something that is not real or true.”
The increase in remote work since the pandemic has created a new dictionary entry, “Mouse Jiggler.” This is the device or software used to appear to be working when not.

The Cambridge Dictionary uses Cambridge English Corpus, a database of over 2 billion words of written and audio English, to monitor how different people use new words, and how often and in what contexts, the company says.
