EXCLUSIVE: Steve Buscemi is getting into the podcast business.
The Reservoir Dogs and Con Air star is hosting Big Time, an original true-crime podcast series from Apple that explores audacious crimes including fake kidnappings, elaborate robberies, even stolen sharks.
The 14-part series, which launches on March 24, comes from Lee Eisenberg’s Piece of Work Entertainment and Campside Media, in association with Buscemi and Wren Arthur’s Olive Productions.
In each episode, Buscemi will introduce a new true-crime story about a larger-than-life scam or scheme that almost worked.
Big Time is the third podcast series produced by Campside Media for Apple; the company is behind Hooked and Run, Bambi, Run. Apple’s burgeoning slate of podcast originals also includes The Line, Operation: Tradebom and Wild Things: Siegfried & Roy.
Buscemi, who will also produce the series, is set to star in the second season of Netflix’s Wednesday, which is set to be released later this year. It is his second project with Jenna Ortega this year as he’s also starring in Taika Waititi’s dystopian sci-fi film Klara and the Sun alongside her and Amy Adams.
“I think a lot of people, myself included, are fascinated by folks who look at the rules and think, ‘No, I’ve got a better idea.’ Big Time isn’t just true crime – it’s a carnival of chaos, and I’m excited for listeners to tune in,” said Buscemi.
