Showgirl Life: Meaning and Inspiration explained
Her 12 albums will arrive on October 3, 2025. Taylor said she only chose 12 songs for the showgirl’s lifespan.
The inspiration was to go “behind the curtains” on tours of the era.
“This album was about what was happening behind the scenes in my inner life during this tour,” Taylor said.
She continued, “It came from the most infectious, wild, dramatic place I have ever been in my life, and this record was bubbling up.”
Taylor took a break from the tour, working with Swedish hitmakers Max Martin and Shelbach to create these “infectious anthems,” including nominal tracks featuring the ERAS tour opener, Sabrina Carpenter.
In addition to “Showgirl Life”, the tracks are “The Fate of Ophelia”, “Elizabeth Taylor”, “Oparite”, “Father Figure”, “Oldest Daughter”, “Substitutes Friendship”, “Really Romantic”, “wi $h li $t”, “wood”, “Cancel!” and “Honey”.
