Newcastle United have been given hope to land Joane Wissa this summer after telling Brentford “he will never play again.”
Magpies are eager to sign a new striker regardless of the situation with Alexander Isaac and regardless of Wissa’s rise as one of the top targets this summer.
According to a report on Tuesday, if ISAK leaves RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesco and Chelsea’s Nicholas Jackson, Newcastle claims this summer could sign two strikers.
They have not given up on Wissa, who has already bid, but Brentford makes it difficult for Magpies to trade on the line.
Nottingham Forest first came in with Whissa’s £20 million bid in the first half of Whissa before Newcastle rejected the £25 million offer, before denying its £25 million bid on add-ons.
However, Newcastle was told that if he needed the opportunity to sign the 29 year old this summer, he would have to cough around £50 million.

Transfer journalist Ben Jacobs revealed over the weekend that Wissa considers the move to be his last chance to play in the Champions League.
Jacobs wrote to X: Brentford told Newcastle to pay more than £50 million or leave yesterday. Wissa was informed last year that he could leave this summer for £26 million, and Brentford now believes he has broken that word of agreement.
“Newcastle has already bids high and feels that Wissa should be allowed to leave #UCL and play. At 29, that may be his only opportunity. Neom SC has also taken the approach, but Wissa is giving other teams priority in either Newcastle or Champions League football.
And now Jacobs and fellow journalist Daniel Feliciano have said he has “still pushed Brentford to leave, telling the club that he won’t play again.”

Interest from Newcastle and Tottenham has become “the player’s head,” but Brentford has refused to enter into negotiations to sell Dr. Congo International for less than £50 million.
“Wissa, who has been “opened” to move to Spurs as Newcastle has now moved to a variety of targets, is furious because she feels that Brentford has broken an agreement made last summer.”
Brentford denied that they allowed Premier League or Champions League clubs to leave for 30 million euros (£26 million), and the bees decided to keep Wissa after losing Wissa to Manchester United in front of the window.
