-

UPDATE, 3/19: Hulu released the first trailer (above) for The Handmaid’s Tale‘s sixth and final season which builds intense anticipation as to what June Osborne (Elisabeth Moss) still has to face before the lights go dark on the dystopian drama.

The series has been preparing viewers for a revolution and this season, it’s no longer a promise, it’s a reality. In the trailer, June is out and about with Luke (O-T Fagbenle) headed toward Gilead, which leads to a lot of questions. How and where were they reunited after June and her daughter left on a train out of Canada as police arrested Luke? June is visibly torn between the two loves of her life: Luke and Nick (Max Mighella), the latter of who continues to risk everything to save her no matter the consequences.

Then there’s the big reveal showing Serena (Yvonne Strahovski) has not only found her way back to Gilead but she’s also walking down the aisle in a church wearing a baby blue gown as handmaids surround her. Who is her groom? Later in the trailer, it’s revealed to be Josh Charles’ new character when he carries his new bride across the threshold of their new home.

Once war breaks out, the handmaids are armed and willing to kill anyone who gets in the way of freedom. Aunt Lydia (Ann Dowd) is losing her mind in one brief moment who knows whatever the chaos, June Osborne is behind it.
