Newcastle star Anthony Gordon described new teammate Nick Ultemed as “very similar” to Harry Kane after the pair could have played together if Bayern Munich wanted to pay what the Magpies did.
Woltemade started his life in the Premier League a lot. The 23-year-old German striker has three goals in four league games, sending out a goal against the Wolves and a full penalty against Arsenal and Nottingham Forest.
He also scored once in the Champions League and proved a good return on Newcastle’s £69 million investment.
He was on the radar in Bayern Munich and may have been playing with Harry Kane. Given that he went to Newcastle, the team must benefit from Kane’s same type of player, Magpie Winger Gordon.
He said:
“Personally, I think it helps me. I think my style is good for playing with that style of striker because if the defenders want to go with them, I think it’s really positive and I’m really enjoying it.”
One reason Woltemade ended up in Newcastle rather than Bayern is because the German serial champions were reluctant to pay the massive fees ordered by the striker.

Bayern board member Karl Heinz Rammenijge said of the move:
Gordon was recently hit with Rummenigge about his comments on Woltemade.
He said: “I don’t know why you comment on players you’re not at your club.
“To be honest, it’s a bit stupid, especially when the players start out really well.
“If he was really starting out poorly, you made that comment, but he scored three goals in four games, so that was a bit of a weird comment.”
And while Gordon sees similarities between Woltemade and Kane, he feels the Magpie striker is a separate player from his former teammate Alexander Isak.
He said: “They are two completely different players, so it’ll take time to get used to his style of play.”
Newcastle seems used to knowing how to find Woltemade, as he took advantage of the 6-foot-5-inch frame to get two headers.
