The Office follow-up series, The Paper, will no longer be released on a weekly schedule when the show premieres on September 4; instead, it will pivot to a binge release. All 10 episodes will be available to stream at once.
The Paper, a mockumentary from Greg Daniels and Michael Koman, is set in the same universe as NBC’s Emmy Award-winning hit series The Office, and features the documentary crew that immortalized Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch. The crew is searching for a new subject when they stumble upon a historic Toledo newspaper, The Truth Teller, and the publisher’s efforts to revive it.
The series stars Domhnall Gleeson, Sabrina Impacciatore, Chelsea Frei, Melvin Gregg, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman, Ramona Young, and Tim Key. Eric Rahill, Duane Shepard Sr., Allan Havey, Nate Jackson, Mo Welch, Nancy Lenehan, Molly Ephraim and Tracy Letts will guest star.
The only actor thus far from the original series set to reprise their role is Oscar Nuñez (playing Oscar Martinez), who is none too happy to be back under the microscope of the doc crew. The show will not be centered around Oscar, the former Dunder Mifflin accountant, but he is one of the characters in the show and was involved from the start.
Although he is the only actor from the OG series to join the ensemble, Paul Lieberstein will direct the fourth episode of the show’s freshman season. Lieberstein played
