Jimmy Fallon is set to take advantage of the continued popularity of the NFL as The Tonight Show sets four shows on Sunday nights across the first three months of the season.
The Tonight Show will air four shows between September and December after NBC’s Sunday Night Football, immediately following local news.
It comes after Fallon did one post-NFL Sunday night show last season.
The show is set for September 21 after the Kansas City Chiefs take on the New York Giants with guests including Matthew McConaughey and Eric Church. It will be followed by shows after Green Bay Packers vs. Pittsburgh Steelers on October 26, Detroit Lions vs. Philadelphia Eagles on November 16 and Houston Texans vs. Kansas City Chiefs on December 7.
The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon returns from summer hiatus on September 2 with guests Jessica Chastain, Josh O’Connor and Paul Mescal, Sabrina Impacciatore and a musical performance by Arthur Hanlon, Carlos Vives & Goyo. The show is produced by Universal Television and Broadway Video with Chris Miller as showrunner. Lorne Michaels is exec producer and Gerard Bradford serves as producer.
“Teaming up with NBC Sports for these Sunday night episodes is always a highlight for us,” said Miller. “We’ve always loved leaning into sports and are excited to be a part of Sunday Night Football again this season.”
