EXCLUSIVE: Kids favorite Blippi is taking his unique brand of energy, comedy and positivity on the road in a new Moonbug Entertainment series.
Blippi: The Ultimate Road Trip will see the children’s content presenter and his best friend Meekah on a cross-country journey to the ‘Be Like Blippi Games’ in Los Angeles. The series will premiere on YouTube on August 16.
Along the way, the pals will visit cities such as New York City, Philadelphia and Nashville, exploring landmarks and meeting new friends to remind kids that curiosity is the ultimate superpower.
In Nashville, they’ll meet country music star Kane Brown, who will take on a Floor is Lava challenge, while in New York, Blippi explores the city with actor and singer Jordan Fisher and discovers the joys of baking in Milk Bar founder Christina Tosi’s kitchen.
“Blippi: The Ultimate Road Trip is a true milestone for the franchise and for our fans,” said Mike Katzman, Blippi General Manager at Candle Media-owned Moonbug. “For the first time, we’re taking Blippi on a nationwide journey, not just on screen, but in real life, with celebrity guests, original music, and interactive events that bring the world of Blippi to families across the country.
“We’re on a mission to inspire families to get curious together, and this series is our biggest step yet. Blippi isn’t just visiting new places, he’s meeting fans face-to-face and showing them how to explore, play, and learn just like he does.”
The series and games are part of a Moonbug-created week-long event, Be Like Blippi, which will comprise original content, original music, and immersive experiences across the States. Moonbug has teamed with Airbnb to create private meet-and-greet experiences with Blippi in New York and Los Angeles.
The energetic Blippi character, first played by Stevin John, began life as a YouTube channel for preschoolers in 2014. The channel currently has 25.3 million subscribers and is one of most popular on the Google-owned social media platform. A spin-off series, Blippi’s Treehouse landed on Amazon Kids+ in 2021. Blippi has also streamed on Netflix globally since 2022.
