Looking back at the best interviews before Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis’ “Freakier Fridain”
Mark Waters’ Fortune Cookies didn’t predict a sequel.
The filmmaker who directed the 2003 odd Friday film revealed that despite his original cast members Lindsay Lohan (Anna), Jamie Lee Curtis (Tess), Chad Michael Murray (Jake), Stephen Toborosekie (Bates) and Liya Margani (Hanley), they were not asked to take the helm of the 2025 sequel, Freakier Friekier.
“Unfortunately, I wasn’t invited to the party,” Mark said in an interview with Variety, which was released on August 15th.
However, when the Mean Girls Director learned that the follow-up of the comedy that hit the theater on August 8 would be carried over without him, he continued to admit that he would “never develop” his ideas for the second installment.
“I’m very supportive of them making great new films,” he explained about the sequel directed by Nisha Ganatra. “It would have been good to be involved, but now it’s not so, so I’ll distinguish it for myself.”
