Spain reports that Manchester United are planning a “big offer” for Barcelona midfielder.
United have completed two major signatures so far this summer, adding Wolverhampton Wanderers and Brentford’s Brian Mbeumo’s Matthew Scuña for a total of £127.5 million.
They also added young people Enzo Kana-Biyik and Diego Leon, bringing the summer costs up to £134.8 million.
Signing the centre forward is a priority for the Ruben Amorim and Ratcliffe transfer team after missing out on the new Arsenal signing Viktor Gyokeres.
The Red Devils are in talks to sign Benjamin Sesco from RB Leipzig, but face competition from Premier League rival Newcastle United, who made an official offer to the Slovenian striker on Saturday.

Amorim also wants to replace Andre Onana with a new goalkeeper, but knows that the Cameroonians have to leave to make it happen, but the midfielders could be targeted as well.
One midfield player linked to the journey to Old Trafford this weekend is Fermin Lopez of Barcelona. He scored eight points in all competitions in 2024/25, supporting 10 appearances in 46 appearances.
According to Spanish outlet sports, United “willing to pay Fermin’s fortune” while Barcelona is “discussing why big sales are needed.”
In fact, the Red Devils have shown that they are “directly expressing interest” in the signature of The 22-year-old, and are open to making “a big offer over 70 million euros” (£61.1 million).
La Liga Champions and players’ camp “aware of the situation” will “have the possibility of a transfer going forward in the coming weeks.”

Barcelona is debating whether to embrace United’s approach, but Fermin decided at the beginning of the summer that “despite the approach from Saudi Arabia’s strong Arabian club, Chelsea and even Arsenal, they “want to stay no matter what.”
United’s interest increased “significantly” this week as Amorim plans to add at least four players before the summer windows close.
The Premier League Giants “supported interest in the meeting” with Barca over Marcus Rashford, who apparently moved to Catalonia on loan, but “negotiations were not coordinated.”
With the negotiations completely separate, United wants to convince Fermin with an astronomical offer ‘actually double the pay’.
The report previously said it was “probably likely to happen,” but the Spanish midfielder said “no one wants to leave Barca” and that he has already said no to some Premier League projects.
If the Red Devils offer around £610 million, Barca is “are willing to negotiate,” and HellP resolves the financial issues and ultimately “will dream of registering, signing, and even adding all the updates.”
Anyway, Fermin is said to hold the “dominance” and it will be the player and his representatives who will make the final decision.
